Explore Southside Danish Sideboards

Still popular as ever

Southside Danish mid-century sideboards come in a range of styles and sizes.

Storage furniture in 1950’s and 1960’s included classic high and low rise sideboards as well as a range of conveniently sized buffets, cupboards and side cabinets. The mid-century sideboard was designed as a free standing storage solution that would add style to a living room. They were made to store larger items as well as could store smalls in cute drawers or sliding drawers that gracefully slid from site.

It was the perfect solution for smaller living spaces and what’s more, it could easily be removed and taken to another house as living circumstances changed.

In days when the dining room was separated from the kitchen the sideboard would act as kind of servery. It was also perfect to display ceramics, silverware and glassware.  The notion that a 70cm wafer thin colour TV could take place on a sideboard would have been completely alien.

Mid Century sideboards are still incredibly popular as we look for a stylish classics to set off an interior design.
